Gita Saedi Kiely

I have been working in the documentary film space for over 30 years as a film producer, editor, educator, programmer and festival director. Currently I am the director of a global film program that supports local independent filmmaking in underrepresented communities across 100+ countries. The program branded FilmAid is part of Internews, an international NGO that supports local independent news and information. Beyond filmmaker trainings, screenings, and mentoring opportunities, FilmAid offers a network to support and build sustainability in the communities we serve. Before FilmAid, I produced, edited and programmed documentary films, primarily with Kartemquin Films in Chicago. I currently serve on the ITVS (itvs.org) and Big Sky Film Institute (bigskyfilmfest.org) advisory boards, and am a grants advisor for The Redford Center.
